Goldmine Riddim

Gargamel Productions released the Goldmine Riddim in 2009.  With only seven songs featured on this one, the result was just a few that were worthwhile.  Gramps doesn't sound the same, on "Higher (In Love)," without the rest of the Morgan Heritage family, and Buju Banton produces an unusually slow love song with "Buy Love."  Delly Ranx gives us a good listen with "Murderer," but the most popular song has to be Gyptian's "Money Man."  My favorite song though comes from an unknown artist, Benjamin, with his track, "Woman You Hot," because the 'girls dem love di Benjamin.'

Big Ups to DJ BenJammin' on his birthday!!

Cardiac Strings Riddim

CR203 Productions presents the Cardiac Strings Riddim (September 2011).  Tarrus Riley, the KING-of-Conscious, leads the riddim with his tune "Karma," and it's great to hear new vibes from Jah Cure--check him on his tune "Nothing."  Any riddim looks promising with Tarrus and Jah Cure on the tracklist, but the rest are pretty disappointing.  Alaine's vocals are soothing as always on "Bye Bye Bye," however I can't get past the chorus, and do yourself a favor and skip Chris Martin's song "Cheater's Prayer" as well.

Big Ups to Tarrus on this one! Bless up.

I Feel Good Riddim

Beautiful sunny day here in Vermont, which always makes me feel good, so here you go.  Penthouse/VP Records produced the I Feel Good Riddim in 2008--although not an official full album it has featured a few huge tunes over the past couple years.  The biggest song is from one of the most popular lover's rock singers reggae has ever seen, the sweet-singing Beres Hammond with "I Feel Good."  Rising star Romain Virgo's first major hit, "Mi Caan Sleep," was released on this riddim, which eventually led him to the top of the Jamaican charts.  A song that I really like is from an unlikely artist with General Degree's "Jah Will Provide."  Mostly known for his dancehall tracks, his strong voice sounds just right over the sax heavy beat.  Do more reggae songs please.
